Mars

Red Dust,
covering the planet,
like a powdered rust,
Barren canals,
abandoned canyons,
looking like a lost civilization,
sparking imaginations,
water that used to exist,
left the atmosphere,
like a mist,
what remains,
seems frozen in time,
hidden deep in Olympus Mons,
where secrets go to hide,
Lagging behind in its orbit,
concealing mysteries and treasures,
while the vaccum of space,
keeps us at bay,
thin in atmosphere,
thick on legend,
seemingly so close,
yet still light years away...

Most of the time, I feel more like a Martian than an Earthling.
